Rapper DMX Arrested For Probation Violation
DMX is working on having the longest rapper rap sheet. The former rap superstar was arrested again on Wednesday for violating his probation by regularly using illegal drugs during the last nine months, authorities said. DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, had served about half of an 18-month probation when he was arrested Tuesday night and booked in the downtown Phoenix jail. Simmons told a probation officer that he used cocaine and was not complying with the terms of his treatment plan, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told Reuters. "We would hope that he is finally sent to prison," Arpaio said. "We've arrested him five times already. How many times do you have to violate the law?"
In an August 2007 raid on Simmons' home, police found 12 neglected dogs, three buried dogs, drugs and a reserve of weapons. The rapper served a 90-day sentence for felony convictions including cruelty to animals, theft and two drug counts. He was released from jail in May.
