Pope Benedict XVI Nominated For Classical Brit Award
In addition to governing the Roman Catholic Church, DJ Vatican Ice is now producing mega music hits. The Pope has received his first Classical Brit nomination for Alma Mater - Music from the Vatican, an album of Lauretan litanies and prayers set to music. Pope Benedict XVI's voice appears on the album which will compete for the album of the year award, voted for by the public. The nominees are the 10 biggest-selling classical albums of the past 12 months. Oddly, this pits DJ Vatican Ice against artists such as former X Factor finalist Rhydian Roberts. Voting runs February 15th, 2010 through April 23rd, 2010. The winner will be announced at the Classical Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on May 13th, 2010. Hopefully, remixes will hit the clubs this summer!
