For months the heartbreaking drama Precious has been on the minds and in the hearts of everyone who has seen it.  Which, if possible, makes the real life news of a father impregnating 5 of his own children even harder to handle.  Art truly does imitate life.  Even more shocking, the man charged with repeatedly raping his five daughters has been identified as the award-winning music video director Aswad Ayinde.  Ayinde won an MTV award for directing the video for "Killing Me Softly" by hip hop legends The Fugees.

The director is accused of trying to create a "pure" family bloodline by raping and impregnating his daughters for over a decade.  Ayinde is said to have fathered six children with his daughters, and personally delivered the children.

According to news sources, Beverly Avinde who was married to Aswad in 1977 told the court that she was afraid to ever accuse him of being demented or being a pedophile. She knew the word, but she didn’t dare use it because it would result in a beating.

When news reporters visited the home of one of Avinde’s children in New Jersey, a young woman said Ayinde was her father but refused to talk about the case. She told news reporters that "It's a painful thing. It's not something we're going to talk about outside of our family. The truth is coming out now, after a long time. That's it."

Ayinde faces 27 charges including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, lewdness, child endangerment, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact.

He is being held on $1 million bond.
