James Cameron To Re-Release Titanic in 3D

The popular Hollywood fad of beating a good idea into the ground has gained another option.  It used to just rely on making enough sequels to make the franchise laughable and  remaking every movie and then remaking it again.  Now, Hollywood doesn't even need to remake the movie.  It can just do is a little post production manipulation and re-release the same movie as if it were brand new.  James Cameron, the man who directed the two all time highest grossing films, has confirmed in re-issuing his first blockbuster flick in 3D format.

Titanic will come back to theaters in 3D by the year 2012 – the 100th year anniversary of the tragic event where it’s story was based. It lost the title this year after Cameron’s Avatar broke the 2 billion dollar mark.

Movies are now being considered for 3D after the wide success of Avatar. The next installments of Toy Story and Shrek will be in that format. The last two Harry Potter movies had several minutes in 3D. Alice in Wonderland overtook the limelight from Avatar because of 3D effects. Jaws is also being considered to be re-released in 3D.
