Carly Simon Running Contest For "Vain" Music Video
Jon Gosselin, Tiger Woods, and Brad Pitt BEWARE! 38 years after break up anthem "You're So Vain" topped the charts, Carly Simon is ready to make a video. Simon has now opened up a competition for fans and filmmakers who want to try recording a video to go with the song. The winning entry will be shown at New York's Tribeca Film Festival with a prize presented by the singer from her personal archive.
"People ask me all the time why is there no video of this song," Simon said in a video announcing the competition. "I think it's that people were so busy asking me who the song was about that nobody thought to make a video of it."
Simon has never publicly revealed the identity of her inspiration. The usual suspects include first husband James Taylor or one of her many ex-boyfriends, such as Warren Beatty or Mick Jagger or Cat Stevens or Kris Kristofferson.
Details of the contest can be found at www.carlysimon.com, with the deadline set for April 15.
